SE-Village Community Development Intern (Full or part-time voluntary basis)

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to get into the Third/Voluntary sector, or who is looking to work in development. The entire role will be to host community events, work with local people to develop their skills and contribute to the discussion of how to build social capital locally. Adult Learning (voluntary)

The Peckham Settlement are running full time English courses and are looking for volunteers to support their delivery.

Boom Bus Youth Worker (voluntary)

To supervise young people aboard the 'Boom Bus', which is a double-decker bus containing a recording studio, internet enabled computers and an X-Box. The Bus is parked close to the Bells Garden Estate in North-East Peckham.
The role will include talking to and getting to know local young people, supervising recording studio sessions, registering attendees and ensuring Health and Safety measures are met. Most of the role will take place inside the Bus, but some workers will also be needed outside to chat to young people who are not on the bus. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in doing youth work in an urban setting, especially those with a keen interest in making and recording music.

Marketing / Fundraising Worker (voluntary)

A volunteer is needed to help promote and market the work of The Peckham Settlement by contacting local business leaders, work with supporting schools and Old Girls' Associations to raise the profile and knowledge of the work of The Settlement. Volunteers would produce publicity materials to support and raise the profile of the Settlement and awareness of it's work . You would also need to provide regular reports of the organisation both to the director and the marketing/ fundraising working party. Outreach and Events Support Worker (voluntary)

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who likes to be hands on in their community, a people-person and enjoys a challenge!
You will have the opportunity to work on ‘SE-Village’, our newest project at Peckham Settlement, which involves supporting local people to start their own projects and social enterprises. Through it we will create a hub of community activity - fostering connections, creating pride, a sense of belonging and targeting isolation; and empowering local people to be the solution to their own wants/needs.

The position will involve working alongside a dedicated SE-Village team to engage local people and deliver practical support to help them succeed. Across the summer months it will also involve planning and hosting many community events in/around Peckham.
